SME Industrial development

MITC possesses substantial experience in developing industrial SME companies in the region, helping over 250 companies since it began in 2011. We offer open seminars, shorter workshop series and longer development programmes for industrial development. The force behind the initiative is a working relationship between Mälardalen University, partners and technology suppliers in order to meet future needs and rising trends in technology.

In recent years we have organised a large number of programmes for SME development connected to digitalisation and Industry 4.0. Examples of areas are smart maintenance, the latest generation of business systems (ERP, MES), IoT solutions, additive manufacturing, online robots and online production planning, data analysis and digital twins.

MITC supports companies through various coaching and training programmes, in groups or individually, connected to for example increasing production, lean/change management, automation/robotisation, sustainability and business development. Great emphasis is placed on supporting of subcontractors to the automotive manufacturing industry and support reorganisation of the manufacturing industry through production development and new technology.

MITC is also the regional manager in East Middle Sweden for the Production Lift [“Produktionslyftet”] as well as a co-operation hub within Industrial Development Centres Sweden [IUC Sverige]. MITC is also a Digital Innovation Hub on EU level as well as a candidate to become a European Digital Innovation Hub for Smart Manufacturing, Shift Labs.
