An event by MITC in collaboration with Sioux Technologies
Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the future of manufacturing – from predictive maintenance and advanced automation to smarter decision-making across the value chain. But how can companies in Sweden and beyond leverage these technologies to remain globally competitive?
MITC, together with Sioux Technologies, invites you to an inspiring afternoon where industry leaders, researchers, and technology experts share insights, challenges, and opportunities around the next generation of AI-driven manufacturing.

About Sioux Technologies
Sioux stands out as a technology partner supporting Research & Development departments with deep knowledge in system development, mathematics, Adaptive AI, software integration, and the construction of high-tech modules and systems. We help clients accelerate their time-to-market, strengthen teams with high-tech expertise, and bring decades of science and technology experience to the table.
Based in the heart of technology and Semicon innovation – Brainport, the Netherlands – Sioux works with leading companies such as ASML, BESI, Philips Medical, and Thermo Fisher. With a dedicated Artificial Intelligence Business Unit, Sioux integrates AI directly into client projects, delivering intelligent solutions that drive innovation and performance.

Why join?
  • Hear from Sioux Technologies about real-world applications of Adaptive AI in high-tech and manufacturing systems.
  • Gain perspectives from Volvo CE, on how they apply AI in their operations.
  • Learn from national initiatives such as AI Factory Mimer or Semicon Sweden about how Sweden is positioning itself in the global AI and semiconductor landscape.
  • Discover why SMEs and tech solution providers should join to explore collaboration opportunities, connect with larger industry players, and accelerate their AI journey.
  • Network with industry partners, researchers, and innovators shaping the future of manufacturing.

Welcome to explore how AI will transform the future of manufacturing – and how we can shape it together.

Keynote speakers from Sioux Technologies

Hank Guitjens, Senior Business Development Manager, Sioux Technologies (NL).
An internationally oriented business leader with a track record across 60+ countries, Hank explores the cutting edge of high-tech systems and Adaptive AI. Driven by curiosity and collaboration, he connects global insights with local impact to shape the future of technology and business.

Daan Nieuwenhuizen, Mathware Designer, Sioux Technologies (NL)
With expertise in applied physics and machine learning, Daan bridges physics and data science to apply AI in complex, high-tech environments.

Volvo Construction Equipment
Ismail Fert, Digital Product Manager – Operations & Purchasing

Ismail will be talking about the AI implementation in Volvo CE Operations. He will focus on chatbot activities that they recently conducted. He will also explain how they evaluate the needs and give priorities to different AI activities.

Semiconductor initiatives in Sweden
Christer Karlsson, Ph. D, Projektledare och materialexpert, Innovative Materials Arena (IMA)

We will give an overview of some of the ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening Swedens resilience regarding semiconductors. And dive into one project (Semiconductors – a swedish value chain) that will demonstrate a Swedish value chain for semi-insulating silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) on SiC, materials with deep regional roots in Östergötland, where strong research environments have given rise to several companies in the field. These materials are particularly well suited for high-frequency, high-power, and high-temperature applications and are critical for next-generation electric vehicles, defense systems and communication systems.

AI Factory Mimer
Stella Riad, Ph. D, Head of Department Industrial Systems, RISE

MIMER is the Swedish AI factory operated by Linköping University and RISE to strengthen innovation, education, and collaboration within AI in Sweden and Europe. The platform offers support, infrastructure, and test environments for the development, testing, and implementation of AI solutions in areas such as autonomous systems, materials science, and life sciences, with a special focus on supporting Swedish and European SMEs. MIMER works with the entire chain from idea to finished solution and can thus enable future autonomous and automated solutions.

NexTArc: Open Innovations for Safe & Scalable AI in Future Manufacturing Ecosystems
Baran Cürüklü, Senior Lecturer in Computer Science, IDT, Department of Intelligent Future Technologies, Mälardalen University

Dr. Baran will share about the NexTArc Project.  The project focuses on open innovation and cross-industry collaboration to enable secure, reliable, and scalable AI systems that empower both urban infrastructures and advanced manufacturing. By bridging academic excellence and industrial needs, NexTArc aims to accelerate the adoption of AI solutions that are not only powerful but also transparent and trustworthy.
