Applied technology projects

MITC develops and conducts technical projects for smart industry. In conjunction with our partners, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo GTO, GKN, Alfa Laval, Robotdalen and Mälardalen University, we focused on technology shifts in production systems. The most important companies in the region continue to be competitive in a global economy through the joint efforts in new technology and competence.

Collaboration between companies and academic institutions provides substantial benefits, given the rapid technological development, since challenges are often shared and strongly connected to resources and competence. MITC together with its partner companies develop generic solutions for production development that is both cost-effective and sustainable through utilising each other’s competences and resources as well as the university’s advanced expertise in the latest technologies. In tandem, we are building an industry-relevant and needs-oriented operations with an emphasis on future production processes, including system integration and new fields of technology.

MITC’s development group with its partner companies, the university and Robotdalen are driving and setting the direction for joint activities and projects. At our Tech Centre of over 1000 sqm, we set up projects, tests and demonstrations of manufacturing technology. Here, there are robots, online production systems and computers with relevant software. Examples of prioritised areas are Robotics (both industrial and collaborative robotics) and Inline Quality as well as Simulation and Digital Twin.
